In textile printing and dyeing industry, HEDP (Hydroxyethylidene Diphosphonic Acid) is mainly used as chelating agent, color-fixing agent and dye dispersant with the following specific applications:

  1. Preventing metal ions from interfering: HEDP is able to chelate calcium, magnesium, and other hard water ions in water, avoiding the reaction of these metal ions with dyes, thus ensuring the uniform adsorption of dyes and color fastness.
  2. Color fixing treatment: After dyeing and printing, HEDP can be used as a color fixing agent, which reduces the interaction between dyestuffs and metal ions through the formation of stable chelates, enhances dyeing fastness and prevents fading.
  3. Dye dispersion and stabilization: HEDP helps to improve the dispersion of dyes, preventing dyes from aggregation and precipitation, so as to ensure the uniformity of colors during the dyeing process.
  4. Improvement of dyeing solution stability: By chelating metal ions, HEDP can reduce the formation of precipitation in the dyeing solution, improve the stability of the dyeing solution and reduce the dyeing defects.
